In the first quarter of 2024, we’ve been hard at work enhancing HaloPSA with a host of exciting new features. Many of these additions were inspired by the valuable input from our community, underscoring our commitment to shaping the platform according to your needs.
From introducing date dependencies for project tasks to streamlining credit allocation and refining asset management, these updates are crafted to elevate efficiency and empower your team. Dive into the details of our latest features from the 2.143 Stable Upgrade.
1. TechData and Ingram Product Lookups
We’ve recently introduced new integrations with Tech Data’s and Ingram Micro’s Product Catalogs, which you’ll find conveniently grouped under ‘Product Catalogs’ in Configuration>Integrations.
These integrations work seamlessly alongside the Etilize integration, enhancing your experience when using the ‘Add Etilize items’ feature on billing orders. Now, you’ll have access to even more detailed information about product availability and pricing.
Below is an example of a returned item:
2. Simplified Allocation of Credit Amounts to Invoices
We’ve added a new option to Credit Notes, making the allocation of Credit amounts more flexible. You can now select the specific amount you wish to credit, and the invoice to apply this Credit to.
3. Avalara Integration
You can now connect each of your Avalara Companies to an Avalara Connection in Halo. This will allow you to:
- Import customers and sync them to Avalara
- Create transactions in Avalara in Quotes, POs, SOs and Invoices to calculate the tax, allowing for automatic tax calculations
- Allow item code selection at Halo Item Group level
For each Avalara Tenant, you will be able to specify which entities to sync with Avalara (via the ‘syncing to Avalara’ tab) and see logs of requests made from Halo to Avalara:
4. Asset Type Mappings for the N-Central Integration
In HaloPSA, we’ve introduced a new dropdown to choose how to determine an asset’s type.
By default, the dropdown option “Use a field to determine each Asset’s Type” is pre-selected. It functions as before, matching the “deviceClass” field. Now, you can also choose to match on the “deviceClassLabel” field if necessary.
We have also expanded this functionality such that you can now create ‘Asset Type mapping Rules’. The criteria for these rules are determined by using the values of the mapped asset fields. If none of the rules are matched, a default asset type will be used.
5. Added AI ‘Thank You’ Detection
As HaloPSA continues to press forward with developing new and exciting AI use cases, we have added functionality for AI to determine whether the response on a closed Ticket requires the Ticket to be re-opened, or simply a ‘Thank You’ response that requires no further action. This setting can be found in Configuration>Email and serves as a handy way of ensuring your team are only focusing on Tickets that require update.
6. Update Milestones and Target Dates Directly from Gantt View
HaloPSA’s 2024 Q1 Stable release brings multiple enhancements to Project Management. As part of a wider effort to make managing Projects easier, we’ve introduced a new feature in Halo’s project view. Now, you can adjust Milestones and Target Dates directly from the Gantt view, simply by right-clicking on the Task, without the need to click into the Project Task itself.
7. Added Task Date Dependencies
Another area of Project Management includes the introduction of Project Task date dependencies. Now, you can establish dependencies between tasks to ensure seamless project coordination. You can enable this per ticket type, which will allow for the selection of dependencies on that ticket for its children.
Once you’ve set up a dependency between two tickets, any updates to the start date of one ticket will automatically reflect on the other, and the same goes for target dates, based on Dependency type.
8. Datto RMM Webhook Based Alert Processing
We have enhanced the Datto RMM integration page with a new method for processing Alerts. Previously, Alerts were created in Halo based on emails sent from Datto RMM. As of our latest Stable, you can now have Alerts created immediately via webhooks received from Datto RMM.
This addition provides you with more immediate visibility of Alerts, ensuring that you stay informed and proactive in your monitoring efforts.
9. New Email Services for Instant Communication
Over the past few months, Halo have been hard at work migrating all functionality from our legacy ‘NHServer’ application to a new set of services. These services have now been fully rolled out and include immediate processing for incoming and outgoing emails, automations and notifications. These services can be enabled in configuration>Advanced Settings:
The rollout of these new services, in particular around email processing, will lead to improved Service Delivery and aid with seamless engagement with your end-users.
